Pastor's Michael and Detra Carter

Pastors Michael and Detra Carter served as senior pastors of Abundant Life Family Worship Center in Indianapolis, Indiana for 3 years before returning home to become senior pastors of Life Church. They served as Worship leaders at Life Church for 7 years, and also served as elders for 3 years. Pastor Mike is accountable to Pastor Phillip Amandola.

Together, Pastors Michael and Detra teach the unobstructed Word of God without compromise, and cling to integrity and truth while doing so. They also believe in team ministry, and are building a solid, biblically based leadership team.

Pastor Mike is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University in Business Science and Religious Studies. Pastor Detra is a graduate of Butler University and Indiana University and holds a master's degree in vocal performance. They have 5 children; 4 girls and 1 boy.

Our desire is that lack of transportation would not get in the way of your getting connected to our church community

If you need a ride to church please call (812) 339-5433, choose Option 506 by 8:00 pm on Saturday evenings for a ride to our Sunday morning service. When prompted to leave a message, give your name, address, phone number.

Time & Location

Our Sunday morning services are at 10am. We are located at 3575 North Prow Rd, Bloomington, Indiana. We are located directly across from Bloomington Meadows Hospital and Down from Bloomington North High school Tennis Court and Student parking.

What to expect!

What is our service like?
You will enjoy interactive dynamic worship, prayer and a very practical down to earth yet spiritual message. Our service times are Sunday Morning Worship at 10am and Wednesday night Re-Boot at 6:45pm.
What about my children?
We know that whether you have infants or older children you need a safe place for them to learn and interact. You'll find that the Reign Forest is a safe and fun place for your children to learn. Our children's leaders are dedicated and focused on your children.
What about my teens?
Shockwave Youth is a fellowship that connects teens to their purpose with God's Word. In a time when so many young adults do not know who they are, God has a plan to show every teen that He has a purpose for their life
What do I wear?
Some come dressed in a suit and tie or a dress, some come dressed in nice jeans and some come dressed business casual. We want you to feel comfortable while we worship together.
What ministries do you have?

What we believe!

We believe that all people since Adam are born in sin and shaped in iniquity (Psalm 51:5), and are in need of a savior (Psalm 14:3, Romans 6:23)

We believe in salvation by Jesus Christ alone (John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Philippians 2:10)

We believe that God is one triune Spirit, manifesting Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, 1 Corinthians 15:8)

We believe that the bible is the Word of God, inspired and God-Breathed by the Holy Spirit.

We believe that it is the will of God that every believer be filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8, Acts 19:1-6)

We believe in water baptism by full immersion (Acts 2:38, Colossians 2:11-12, John 3:23)

We believe that the church is God's exclusive agency on earth to minister the Gospel to the world through both Christ-like speech and lifestyle. (Ephesians 3:21)

We believe in the five-fold ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12)

We believe that Jesus Christ will return in bodily form to receive those, and only those who are saved unto Himself (Acts 1:11, John 14:3)
